The body is not a lower-order stuff as many
cyberspace theorists pretend. It's more than a
location. The mind does not leave the body; the
body is the mind. Mental is physical, physical is
mental (tanxs Searle).
The spreading of music in cyberspace doesn't make
it fleshless. The body anchors the music. Anyway, is
there a real desire to transcend the body ? During
my research for the book Carambola I asked several
musicians. None of them answered the question.
from human to transitional human to posthuman
Nous créons un espace hors du corps dans lequel il
est question de se rapprocher le plus possible de nos
sensations corporelles.
..... then, if music is information, where is
music ?
in a score, a recording, a radio or television
show, human's memory, where?
can music exist without being
instantiated in a medium?
does virtual music imply a voluntary transfert of our
musical consciousness into a virtual cortex?
